Cloud Architect (broad knowledge of Azure is needed)

You are fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an advantage.
The candidate should be very knowledgeable on Azure cloud platform and its native components.
Apart from that, we are really looking also for a person that knows how to design a framework around containerisation of Spark data processing with AKS.

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced cloud architect with a very strong knowledge of the Azure ecosystem with an in-depth knowledge of the technical components such platform has to offer. As a cloud architect, you will be helping our internal architects setting up the architectural landscape & frameworks that will allow us to go forward in our cloudification process. Designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure.
You will work closely with our architects & engineers to understand their needs and provide them with optimal cloud solutions. You will also provide solutions for the migration of existing applications and data to the cloud. You will help defining & setting up security, scalability, reliability of our cloud infrastructure and services and make sure they achieve the required performance.

Responsibilities

Some of the main responsibilities for this role are:
Design and develop cloud architectures and solutions using the Azure platform and best practices
Define cloud enablers according to the target architecture and propose solutions
Provide technical guidance and support to other architects, developers, and engineers
Evaluate and compare different Azure options and components to come up with the best fit for our requirements and budget
Define and implement frameworks and standards for our data pipelines within Azure
First assignment will be to successfully plan & implement a set of proof of concepts relying on the Azure ecosystem

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:
A master's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field
A minimum of 10 years experience in data as a data engineer or architect
At least 5 years of experience in cloud computing, preferably with Azure o relevant Azure certification, such as AZ-303, AZ-304, or AZ-500 is a plus
Proficient in Azure services and tools, such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, SQL DB, Databricks, Azure Data Catalog, APIM, Azure Security Center, etc.
Strong knowledge about Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes (AKS)
Strong knowledge of cloud architecture principles and patterns, such as microservices, serverless, event-driven, containerisation principles etc.
Experience in migrating and developing cloud-based applications and data pipelines
Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python, Java, PowerShell, etc.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
