Network Technical Architect (Contract)
Location: Reading, Remote  Country: UK Rate: Competitive Day Rate
 

We are currently recruiting for a Network Technical Architect with strong documentation skill to join our client`s talented Solution Delivery team.

This is a key role with responsibility for implementing technical changes that transform and improve the IT estate across hundreds of plant and office locations.

We need someone to work across all technical areas and components in the networking space: Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Wifi solutions, Global WAN and SD-WAN, voice technologies and security including VLAN segmentation and authentication.

Previous experience of supporting technologies such as OT Secure, Network Security, SDWAN, Lighthouse etc

Key Skills Needed

  • Documentation - high level
  • Cisco LAN - high level
  • Palo Alto - high level
  • HPE Aruba Wifi - medium level
  • HPE Aruba Edge Connect - medium level
  • Claroty - low level

Experience and technical skills:

  1. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Network Technical Consultant
  2. Experience of delivering within global and matrixed teams, with both internal and 3rd party implementation partners and network service providers.
  3. Ability to take ownership of challenges, deep dive technical issues and document improvements.
  4. Cisco certification CCNP/CCIE or equivalent experience.
  5. Experience of deploying networking into Warehouse and Plant environments.
  6. Extensive Network skills across on-premise and cloud based technologies including:
  • Firewalls, VPN, NATing.
  • In depth knowledge of network security, best practices and technologies.
  • LAN and WAN technologies and protocols.
  • MPLS, Routing (BGP, OSPF), VRF. SD-WAN and relevant connectivity knowledge.
  • CISCO (LAN, MAN, WAN): Cisco Switches and Routers IOS.
  • EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRFs, QOS, routing, switching.
  • Firewall (Essential Cisco ASA and PaloAlto). Internet/IPSEC VPN. Wifi (HPE Aruba essential).

Able to work within ambiguity and change. This is a unique opportunity to really be involved in driving change, untangling complexity and improving our network.

This role will require travel with occasional OOH work

Working Location - Occasional travelling to BMI sites, with appropriate notice. Is that the case. This role can be carried out either remote/hybrid or on site based in Reading.
