Job Responsibilities Your specific duties as a Powertrain Controls Software Engineer will include:
  • Design, validate, and maintain on-board diagnostics (OBD-II) software for powertrain controls.
  • OBD-II is organized into major diagnostic monitor such adaptive fuel, catalyst, evaporative system, misfire, EGR/VCT, O2 sensors, and comprehensive components monitors.
  • Developing control system specifications to meet regulatory requirements,
  • Working in a hands-on environment to design and validate that diagnostic system hardware and software meet requirements.
  • Author calibration guidelines,
  • Support subsystem feature team meetings to present new concepts and resolve issues.
Job Requirements
As a Powertrain Controls Software Engineer you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • BSEE, BSME and/or BS-Computer Science/Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of product development system engineering principles
  • Working knowledge of basic combustion engine operating principles
  • Understanding basic principles of controls engineering
  • Working knowledge of and testing techniques
  • 2 years developing software for powertrain control systems
  • Experience Preferred:
  • Proactive individual, outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills,
  • Exceptional work planning and data analysis skills,
  • Powertrain or OBD-II calibration experience preferred,
  • Personal computer skills with major applications such as EXCEL. MATLAB
  • Experience developing Embedded control algorithms
  • Experience using internal tools to develop, implement and release feature code
  • Expertise in use of calibration development tools
  • Familiarity with and access to test facilities
  • Experience performing vehicle, dyno & software debugging
