Overview: In this role you will:Source, negotiate, and purchase services, equipment and supplies necessary for the operation of an organization. Monitor and select suppliers based on performance and other factors. Compiles and analyze information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Identify opportunities to leverage material acquisitions. Negotiate with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Select vendors and service providers. Responsible for following up with order. May participate in preparation for request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains detailed records of goods and services ordered and received.
2. Identifies and reports specifications for issuing and awarding bids to supervisor.
3. Locates vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and consults with them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
4. Represents Company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
5. Researches and selects suppliers. May conduct interviews to obtain more information on supplier services, products, and operations.
Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills) 5+ years' experience negotiating contracts with vendors, consultants, subcontractors, etc...
2+ years' experience utilizing cost point
5+ years' supporting a government contractor
5+ years' experience working with a wide variety of contract types (FFP. T&M, Cost Plus, etc..)
5+ years' experience managing contracts that fall under the FAR
