Need strong AD, DHCP, DFS, DNS, Windows, Server and Data center background, strong Operating Systems, Cloud experience required (Azure exposure), moving to a cloud based data center, Citrix preferred not required, Wintel, Tier III day to day support but also will help with design and implementation.

Job Description:

The Senior IT Systems Engineer provides support, engineering and design for IT systems and services, delivering a highly available, well-performing, scalable, optimized and cost effective applications and platforms for the company's IT services.

  • The Client leverages advanced IT infrastructure, which includes:
  • Microsoft Lync/Skype voice and published desktops leveraging
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Leveraging technologies from Citrix, Microsoft, HP and Cisco as well as published applications such as SAP accessed from warehouse and corporate facilities around the world.

This position evaluates and designs standards for applications, Servers and related technologies while supporting policies and procedures to ensure consistency with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This role will possess engineering skills and discipline relating to Client's application services platform.

  • Completely independent.
  • Oversees some cross-functional projects, relied upon to answer complex questions, and perhaps assists with some cross-regional projects.
  • Secondary trainer of new team members.
  • Relied upon by Team Lead (TL) and by Management in the TL's absence.

Job Duties:

1. Engineer, architect and support global enterprise applications, Servers and related technologies.

2. Work with IT technology leaders, business partners and service providers to determine, deploy and enforce standards.

3. Propose hardware and software life cycle management, supporting roadmaps, asset deployment, inventory control and asset disposal adhering to corporate asset management policy and procedures.

4. Deliver technology leadership for hardware and software related to provisioning, allocation and support of Servers, storage and networks in a virtual desktop and application publishing environment.

5. Provide technical design addressing operations, security, stability, and continuous improvements for applications, Servers and information system platforms such as:

o Security

o Voice

o Data

o Video

o Business to Business (B2B)

o Electronic File Transfer

o Resilience, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

o Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

o Application Publishing Infrastructure

6. Perform responsibilities and adhere to established protocol relative to:

o Capacity planning and management

o Vendor and contract management

o Forecasting and planning

o Invoice review and analysis

o Financial analysis and budgeting (zero based budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, capital, expenses, etc.)

o Service Level Agreement (SLA) oversight (publish, remediate gaps, etc.)

7. Participate in quality process pertaining to network services such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).

8. Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and tangible outputs. Rely on industry standards, best practices, and qualitative & quantitative data to support and/or refine operations methodologies.

9. Perform other responsibilities as assigned, including overnight and international travel.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.

2. Minimum of 8 years' experience in IT Systems Engineering.

3. At least 3 years client-facing experience, working closely with business teams and customers.

4. Experience working with global service providers is preferred.

5. Current engineering level certifications on enterprise platforms.

6. Active ITIL v3 (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification preferred.

7. Knowledge of parts logistics methodologies, such as inbound/outbound logistics, just-in-time and just-in-sequence preferred.

8. Enterprise support experience with voice and data networks in support of advanced technologies such as wireless, mobility/presence, Microsoft - Lync/Skype, Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, VMware vSphere, IBM AIX, Linux, Citrix XenServer/App/Desktop, SAN, and NAS.

9. Advanced knowledge of network management tools.
